Muhammad Ali Saving a Man in California Audio Recording
Tape cassette recorded by donor, who had the presence of mind to realize the magnitude of what was happening and turned on her tape recorder, on January 19, 1981. The tape contains Ali's conversation with and the commotion surrounding the young man who was attempting suicide outside of donor's office.
Muhammad Ali happened to be in the area, the business district of Los Angeles, California, and was called to help talk the young man off the ledge. Ali's efforts, fortunately, were successful. He then offered to feed and help the young man, and left with him from the scene.
