Staying Spiritual
Of the 18 buildings present on the property, one was a small mosque. This way Ali was able to pray every day in accordance with the Islamic religion in which he believed.
To Muhammad Ali, one of the most important aspects of his life was his spirituality. His devotion to Islam was a noticeable focus of the champ's life, especially as he got older. The camp was important for his career as a boxer, but his spirituality would always come before his career. Ali attributed a lot of his success to his spirituality, in fact. In an interview with Victor Bockris at Fighter's Heaven, Ali stated, "Many things could be accomplished if we only believed. I was determined that I would be successful. I thought about it, I dreamed about it, I slept it, I ate it...and I believed."
