Joe Bowen Oral History Interview Audio
The Collections Department of the Muhammad Ali Center sat down with Lonnie (Joe) Bowen and his wife, Linda Gampf, to hear his stories of Muhammad Ali. He and Ali were awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor award the same day and met. Ali kept Joe onstage with him as photographs were being taken, as they were both 'Kentucky boys'. There were other similarities and memories that were discussed, as well as Joe's incredible life story.
