the article, "Doom in the Desert," chronicles Muhammad Ali's boxing match against WBC Champion Larry Holmes. Both fighters training sessions leading up to the bout, their planning and tactics walking into the ring, and the bout itself are described in detail.
The fight took place in Las Vegas in a temporary space at Caesars Palace, and would be the second to last of his career. Ali knew in the first few rounds that he was defeated. Indeed, secured the win and after rushed to Ali, all at once a fan, not an opponent.
