2013
Eight years ago, in 2013, the Muhammad Ali Center's CEO and President started the annual Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards in honor of Muhammad Ali's lifetime of humanitarian work.
These awards honor and celebrate individuals who, like Muhammad Ali, strive to make a difference in their communities and the world. "Seasoned" awardees are presented with the following awards: Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award for Education, Global Citizenship, Gender Equity, and/or Social Justice, Muhammad Ali Kentucky Humanitarian Award, Muhammad Ali Humanitarian of the Year, and Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award for Lifetime Achievement.
In addition to awards presented to seasoned humanitarians, six young people, age 30 and under, are honored with an award corresponding to each of Muhammad Ali's Six Core Principles: Confidence, Conviction, Dedication, Giving, Respect, and Spirituality. Regardless of their age, culture, ethnicity, religion, or gender, our awardees are role models and are empowering examples of how one person can affect social change.
